Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated:
Plain-English summary: some of the financial products we mention (savings accounts, investment platforms, credit checks, cards, etc.) are affiliate links — if you click through and take out a product, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We only list products we'd genuinely point a friend toward, and every affiliate link on the site is labelled "Affiliate" so it's never hidden.
Contents
1. What affiliate links are
An affiliate link is a tracked link to a third-party company's product or service. If you click it and go on to take out that product (for example, opening a savings account or signing up for a credit-checking service), that company may pay us a small commission. This does not change the price you pay or the product you receive in any way.
2. Where they appear on Wealth Compare
- In your personalised comparison report, under "Recommended for your profile" and "Where to focus next"
- Throughout the Solutions page, across savings, investing, debt, credit score, coaching, and apps categories
- In the report email sent after you unlock your free report
Every affiliate link is marked with a clearly visible "Affiliate" label, both on the website and in emails. We never disguise an affiliate link as independent editorial content.
3. How products are chosen
We aim to only feature products and providers we believe offer genuine value, based on factors like the provider's reputation, terms, and relevance to the specific result in your report. Being an affiliate partner is not, by itself, a guarantee of inclusion — and being included does not mean a product is "the best" or only option available; you should compare alternatives independently before making a decision. Some resources we link to (for example, free debt advice charities) are not affiliate relationships at all, and are labelled accordingly.
4. Credit score checks specifically
Wealth Compare does not perform credit checks itself and is not a credit reference agency. Where we mention checking your credit score, we link to established third-party credit-monitoring services (such as the type of free services offered by major UK credit reference agencies and comparison platforms). These checks are usually "soft" checks that do not affect your credit score, but you should always confirm this directly with the provider before proceeding.
5. A note on financial promotions & regulation
Wealth Compare is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), and nothing on this site is a personal recommendation or regulated financial advice. We provide general, factual, and educational comparison information. Where we link to regulated financial products (such as savings accounts, investment platforms, or credit products), those products are provided by FCA-authorised firms, and your relationship with them — including any advice or recommendation specific to your circumstances — is with that firm directly, not with Wealth Compare.
The promotion of financial products in the UK is subject to specific rules under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and FCA rules on financial promotions, including rules around fair, clear, and not misleading communication. We aim to comply with the "financial promotion" exemptions available to non-regulated comparison/information sites by keeping our content general and factual, clearly labelling commercial relationships, and avoiding personalised investment or credit recommendations. [Given the regulatory sensitivity of this area, this section and the site's overall approach to presenting financial products should be reviewed by a solicitor with FCA financial promotions experience before public launch — see the note at the bottom of this page.]
6. B2B and partner relationships
Separately from consumer affiliate links, Wealth Compare also offers white-label licensing, aggregated data products, and lead-generation services to financial institutions and other businesses, described on our For Business page. These are commercial B2B relationships and are distinct from the consumer-facing affiliate links described above; they never involve sharing individually identifiable user data (see our Privacy Policy).

Important note: this disclosure is a structured starting template. Because Wealth Compare promotes regulated financial products via affiliate links, we strongly recommend a review by a solicitor with UK financial promotions / FCA experience before this site is made public — the cost of that review is small compared to the risk of an non-compliant financial promotion, even from an unregulated comparison site.
